MindConnect Edge Analytics is an edge application that collects and preprocesses high and low frequency data, corelates the data and performs out of the box analysis as well. Additionally,  custom KPI calculations can be designed using a large library of analyzing functions.

MindConnect Edge Analytics makes it possible to perform Condition Monitoring and as a result receive valuable information like the health status of machines or the performance of a production process. After preprocessing, the calculated data is then uploaded to MindSphere.

Condition Monitoring is used for condition-based maintenance of machines, processes, and complete plants. The intention is to avoid unplanned downtimes to increase production line and plant availability. Therefore, a cyclic or permanent measurement and analysis of data is performed. Physical quantities could for example include temperature, speed, torque, vibration, pressure or current. Here the performance requirements regarding sensors and connectivity are usually very high. This applies especially to rotating equipment, where mechanical vibrations are used to determine the condition. The vibration signal provides information about the load of a machine and evolving faults. Streaming data from manufacturing machines, industrial equipment, and other devices connected to MindSphere create a massive amount of data. Preprocessing and analysis at the edge provides cost benefits and reduces latency.

A subscription for this Industrial Edge App entitles to:

• create one (1) single instance of this Industrial Edge App on an Industrial Edge Device; and to
• connect five (1) data points with this Industrial Edge App via the Industrial Edge Device. A 'data point' is an address from which data is read.
